Health Screening

You will almost certainly have read about how essential it is to have regular health check-ups and we strongly recommend them.

An assessment gives you the opportunity to take time out to review both your physical condition as well as your lifestyle.   It can provide reassurance for those who have no issues, alternatively, it can help to prevent illness developing.

Our assessment includes:

  • A private consultation
  • At a place and time of your choice
  • Cholesterol testing - this can be a factor in cardiovascular disease
  • Blood pressure & pulse rate measurements - high blood pressure is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke and kidney failure
  • Urinalysis - this helps detect diabetes and kidney / urinary tract problems
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG) - an abnormal ECG can identify coronary artery disease, an enlarged heart and disturbances in the electrical control of the heart
  • Weight, Height and BMI (body mass index) - excess weight is related to an increased risk of heart disease, raised blood pressure, raised blood fats, stroke, diabetes and even some cancers.  It also has an immediate impact on functional fitness
  • Spirometry (lung function testing) - poor lung function may indicate conditions such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, excess weight
  • Visual acuity - problems with vision may indicate cataract of Glaucoma as well as the need for glasses
  • Drug, alcohol & hearing tests if required
  • An opportunity to discuss any specific concerns and ask questions
  • A confidential written report
