Appraisals & Professional Development Plans.
Investing time in our employees, and ensuring they feel supported, is the very least we can do in return for their had work and dedication to the business.
Each of our employees receive an annual appraisal, which is designed to support them in their roles and in identifying any professional development opportunities.
Appraisals offer an excellent opportunity to spend some undivided time reflecting on the past 12 months, including areas such as; performance, achievements, strengths, and weaknesses. It's also a great time to explore opportunities for the future, including any ambitions or goals, and developing an action plan to facilitate these aspirations.
As part of the appraisal process, a Personal Development Plan (PDP) is completed (and reviewed at subsequent appraisals).
Creating a Personal Development Plan with our employees allows them to take control of their own learning, and proactively identify what is required to support immediate needs, as well as future ambitions.
A Personal Development Plan (PDP) enables learners to identify key areas of learning and development activity that will enable them to either acquire new or develop existing skills and behavioural attributes for the following purposes:
Appraisals are an important aspect of supporting revalidation requirements for our clinical and medical staff.
Doctors Appraisals
As part of our responsibilities as a Designated Body, Mountain Healthcare will support the appraisal process for our medical staff. All medical appraisals take place in accordance with GMC guidance, and our appraisal system is subject to appropriate quality assurance measures, overseen by the Responsible Officer and Lead Appraiser.
Those Doctors attached to Mountain Healthcare will be allocated an internal appraiser each year, and provided with supporting information for their appraisal, including an annual activity report, which includes; training, incidents, compliments and complaints, as well as access to 360 feedback. During the appraisal, each Doctor will agree a Professional Development Plan for the year ahead which will be reviewed as part of their next appraisal. For individuals working in a primary role within another organisation, we are able to provide a supporting annual activity report to support them in their appraisal.
Appraisals for Nurses and Paramedics
Appraisals and Personal Development Plans offer Nurses valuable evidence for their revalidation, and support Paramedics when collating their Portfolios.
