Designated Body.

To ensure our patients are safe, a high quality of care is maintained, and our staff are fully compliant with statutory processes, Mountain Healthcare Ltd acts as a Designated Body for all Doctors who are providing services for our organisation, without additional costs.

Our Medical Director, Professor Webb acts as the Responsible Officer (RO) for Mountain Healthcare, and is trained to undertake these responsibilities.

As a Designated body, we regularly participate in local RO network activities, which provide shared learning opportunities and consistency of approach. We also maintain contact with our Employment Liaison Officer, to ensure we are meeting the required standards.

Mountain Healthcare will support the revalidation needs of those individuals attached to the organisation. This is achieved at our Doctors' annual appraisals, where we reflect on portfolios of information and evidence. We will also provide supporting information for those doctors receiving their appraisal through their primary role within another organisation, and correspond with their RO on any matters raised in the course of their duties for Mountain Healthcare.

Appraisals are an important aspect of supporting revalidation requirements for our clinical and medical staff.

Doctors Appraisals
As part of our responsibilities as a Designated Body, Mountain Healthcare will support the appraisal process for our medical staff. All medical appraisals takes place in accordance with GMC guidance and our appraisal system is subject to appropriate quality assurance measures, overseen by the Responsible Officer and Lead Appraiser.

Those Doctors attached to Mountain Healthcare will be allocated an internal appraiser each year, and provided with supporting information for their appraisal including an annual activity report, which includes training, incidents, compliments and complaints as well as access to 360 feedback. During the appraisal, each Doctor will agree a Professional Development Plan for the year ahead which will be reviewed as part of their next appraisal. For individuals working in a primary role within another organisation, we are able to provide a supporting annual activity report to support you in your appraisal.
